I really need to read the novel. A question I have though, is will Luciano learn about her past lives? Im guessing Carcel will remember parts of it…

No. Luciano will not learn about her past lives. Only she and Carcel will share this secret. It’s serves no purpose for the other characters to know because they are effectively erased lives.

So luciano doesnt get the sister brother memories back nor the guilt of what he did in the second life ? Does he get to know why ines behaved that way to him in this life?

No. He does not. Ines also partly takes responsibility for what happened in the previous timeline. She NEVER once had a desire for her family nor Luciano to remember. None at all. She’s not even interested in revenge for her past lives and she doesn’t even try to get revenge against Oscar for what he did to her in her past lives. It’s all pointless. If there are threats in the present life, those are the ones she will fight against.

Rather than guilt, I just wanted him to understand why she broke that way. But in retrospect, I’d rather he doesn’t remember so he doesn’t carry that.

Why should present life Luciano be guilty for something that HE never did. That was a previous timeline. Essentially, SOMEONE else that committed whatever happened.

Can the next person who dislikes my comment explain what that’s about…? Never been more confused.

I dont want him feel guilty to a torturing extent but in this lifetime even he stays confused as to why ines kept having seizures from being around him? Ik ines didnt want him to remember the guilt but she did miss those brother sister moments from the first timeline and so did luciano

Perhaps because Luciano seems to be a controversial person to some readers. The fact remains, Ines loved Luciano the most and early in this life, she decided not to love nor hate him. However, we already see she’s changing her mind on this as she continues to heal and grow closer to him again.

I know he’s controversial, but nothing about my actual comment depicts my stance on his character. I literally just asked a question.

And I don’t think she decided not to love him. I don’t think you can decide that, in any case. I think part of the role he played in her previous life devastated her because of how much she loved him. And by being happy with Carcel, (and because of some dreams of the past concerning her brother), she’s slowly re-embracing that emotion.

Key word, she TRIED to. And she also said “Beneath all my resentment and repulsion, still remained the unconditional love I had once felt for him”.

    LaNansha August 10, 2025 11:55 am

The fact that her love for him was unconditional was all I needed to know that her trying to stop loving him wouldn’t amount to much except actually lessening the negative feelings she had for him. Add to that the dream-memory she had where she accurately remembered a moment from their past lives and saw her brother talking to her that day through a new lense? Yeah, she couldn’t stop loving him. It was probably the first step toward her re-embracing that feeling.

I won’t make your thread longer. I will just say that yes, there was love beneath but loving someone is not just a feeling. That’s why there is such a thing as loving one’s enemy when the feelings does not match. There’s a part of love that means the way we treat another person. So Ines tried not to love or hate her brother. She distanced herself from him and they were quite awkward through many years and she hated the sight of him during 16 - 20.

You will see the difference when Ines actually decides to freely love her brother from the bottom of her heart both in words and action. It’s a very moving moment and it completely changes the way she deals with him and how proactive she is. Right now Ines would not willingly reach out to her brother unless she wants him to do something for her. After the pivotal moment, her actions and thoughts about him becomes more personal to the point that her brother would hug and kiss her and there’s no awkwardness. Or she worries about her brother’s love life. That’s the difference.

I understand the difference between the action of love and just loving him. I understand she distanced herself not to love or hate him. What im saying is emotions aren’t thing you can control. You can stifle them down and ignore them, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist. That’s really all I’m saying.
