That is true, but to judge wether homosexuality is immoral or not shouldnt be based on if it is a choice or not. Absolutely homosexuality isnt a choice, but lets say for the sake of the argument that it is a choice, would it still be ok? You could make that argument about pedophilia. I assume it isnt a choice, I'm not like that and I cant choose to like kids. But even then, pedophilia is immoral but homosexuality isnt. Why? Its all about consent. If two people of the same sex have consentual sex, nobody is hurt. But a child cant consent. And that assumption in itself is irrational. Why would anyone choose to be a laughingstock (at least in a bigots eyes)? Why would I choose to be mistreated? I think theres a problem in itself with trying to find out why people are gay (or trans for that matter). People used to believe there was some gay gene, and gay people were historically castrated (I wonder what that could mean?). And I dont even have to use past examples, today in japan, trans people who want to be legally recognized are forced to go through sterilization (howether this could recently have been changed mind you). Eugenics is the belief that some people are genetically inferior and shouldnt be allowed to reproduce. During the holocaust jewish, romani, disabled and queer people were exterminated because they were "genetically inferior". Nobody wants to find out why people are straight. The only reason such a revelation would be sought after is if homosexuality is a thing that should be changed. Its simply natural variety. Almost nothing in nature is completely uniform without any divergence.

Excellent depictions of what real and false support is for a gay couple. I do have one small issue that deals with the existence of "homo DNA". Homosexuals are born that way. There is evidence that it is genetic, but the evidence thus far is inconclusive. At the time this manga was published, the debate still raged on as to whether or not homosexuality is a choice. Advances in hard (biology) and soft (psychology) sciences have at least come to the conclusion that one's sexual orientation is NOT chosen, we are born with it. The choice is made when we opt to repress our innate desires in order to fulfill duty or "fit in" to cultural mores. That choice is still necessary for many men and women across the globe. Which is why, as women and allies, we must be "real" supporters for gay men. Being a fujoshi is something I am proud of, I love this genre. However, my fetish for this genre SHOULD NEVER AND WILL NEVER extend to gay couples in real life. Interfering in a gay relationship for the sake of my fetish is no better or different than the pedophile who harasses children for the sake of their fetish.
