Like how are you going to say something to your brother for just believing rumors when you literally haven’t explained anything to anyone this entire time INCLUDING YOUR ACTUAL FIANCÉ. Obviously she is very understanding and might have even been able to assist with finding a solution had he just said something. He has not once properly asked her about potentially being in love with someone else. I feel like characters like these would already know that thinking that way is stupid and unjustified but use it as a reason to find fault with the other person instead of being accountable for their own mistakes.
