I just watched the anime and came to check the comments here for thoughts and a LOT of them are crazy to me , you're absolutely right. Throughout each episode I kept having to pause because of the weird romantic undertone which you'd think wouldn't exist because Satomi is 14-15 and Kyouji is 39. It's so gross.

satomi’s age does matter in the story because he is literally in the middle of puberty. 16-18 is way too old for his voice to barely start changing. also fiction is fiction, grow up.
