I think Asia in general is really weird on consent. Like laws in Japan for example, it’s not considered r*pe if one is intoxicated and the other is sober, or you need a lot of proof of r*pe (injuring the r*pist by scratching or hitting).
That’s one thing, another is simply being a fetish for a lot more people than you’d expect. There’s a reason why you c it a lot, it’s because there’s an audience for it.
One more thing I can think of is authors being shit at writing. They can’t make up something interesting and fluffy, so they add toxicity in it and the only thing they can come up with is make the guy a r*pist, make him fall in love with the victim, have a redemption arc, then boom, all of a sudden he’s the sweetest guy in the world :/

I think the OP means the new and recent ones.
I've been reading since 2017....and I agree with the OP, the new ones have a lot like alot alot of non-consented r*pe, SAs.
The old ones were peak, because it was used as trauma but now it's being normalised like as if it's normal for it to happen anytime and anywhere.
why is rape and noncon normalised in so many manhwas nowadays i cant stand it
