so true, all the characters felt a little lifeless and I feel that has a lot to do w the story's repetitive issue of not expanding on things as they should. so many plot points feel like they just came out of the blue or just overall felt empty. for example, mc's whole family situation kinda got skipped over, we never see why or how the duke and constantine become the emperor's right hand men despite all of them supposedly being in love with claudia, we never even truly got to know the backstory of that rlly powerful elemental spirit guy and his island, the villainesses, and just so many other plot points that u also pointed out, such as her potion making, felix's skin darkening for no reason, and the mc changing her motivations constantly
The story is all over the place. We got little in terms of the overall plot until halfway through and then everything was rushed at once. There were little connections and the transitions were handled poorly. The FLs main motivation literally disappears in chapter 1 and we don't hear about it again unless it's a throwaway comment. Not to mention the lost potential in these characters, especially the FL. Why is she Shakespeare?? She had the potion thing going and even made some very powerful and I assume never before seen potions. What happened to that? A lot of things such as characters and plot points are hastily and briefly introduced or completely swept under the rug and dug up again several chapters later when they need to progress the story. Overall a very messy read and I'm not even going to mention Felix literally changing skin tone when he merged with the devil, even though the devil didn't have dark skin himself.
It feels as if the author had more chapters in mind and started slow but for whatever reason changed their mind and decided to rush everything on the second half.
The saving grace for this manga is the relationship between the two leads. Their romance was handled pretty well in comparison to literally everything else and Felixs/ Lerrys character arc, even though small, was also done nicely.
Overall, 3/5 not overly offensive but it wasn't that good either.
