Hi, genuinely wondering, how is this damaging to actual survivors? There are also a minority of survivors who have turned out like these fictional stories. It’s not unseen given our vast population. Though I can kind of guess; the back story is definitely a front to explain the fetishization and personality of the brothers.

Except I’m pretty sure this flashback isn’t meant to generalise ppl with trauma nor is it a way to excuse their actions. Even before the backstory, MC was almost choked to death over a small question. Author has been dropping bits and pieces of their past, to finally reveal now near the climax. And people with common sense reading this toxic rape murder BL isn’t reading it to take away the “message” of trauma = psychos, I think you’re overestimating the impact this niche story can have in damaging real people

Is this your first yaoi manhwa?
Every single yaoi manhwa with a toxic top has a backstory where he was abused as a child and when the bottom finds out about the abuse he immediately forgives the top for all the rape and all the abuse.
This is a trope and the fact that you don't see that it says you're either new or you don't pay attention.

Why not just finish the story first and see... Spoiler said it's not a happy ending like that.
And anyway, you're right that abused ppl don't all become crazy murderers. Most of these bags hit crazy guys are kinda predisposed to be so, but researches suggest that usually those traits were triggered by sth like trauma, so I wouldn't say it's totally ridiculous or cliché because that's how it is irl.

Never said it wasn’t a trope, was only commenting because you commented about millions of abused children on this specific story, why’d you have to ask that if I’m a newbie sarcastically when all I’ve said is that people aren’t reading this very clearly toxic BL where everything is doom and gloom at every chapter, and the thing they keep in mind is that people who were abused as a child turn out to be psychos irl
Do y'all know how many millions of children are abused? Do y'all know how many millions and millions of people have childhood trauma? It's so many. It's a number that would be impossible to count.
And yet the vast vast majority of people who go through childhood trauma and childhood abuse grow up to be perfectly normal good people.
This trope where rapists and abusers get free passes because of their childhood trauma is damaging and harmful to actual survivors of childhood abuse.
