"Stockholm syndrome is a coping mechanism to a captive or abusive situation. People develop positive feelings toward their captors or abusers over time."
"Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological phenomenon where hostages or victims develop sympathetic feelings and positive attitudes towards their captors"
Already did.
Huh?
I said their love story feels so one sided. Like the scientist is the only one who's in love in their relationship. And Sada doesn't feel the same way his captor does.
Even if Sada does like the ml, his situation can be considered as those people who have stockholm syndrome. Cause who tf in their right mind can fall in love with their captors who mutilated and tortured them, not to mention sexually harassed them?
I don’t think people understand Sada very well based on the comments. There’s also other back story on the authors twitter hit it’s in Japanese. Sada didn’t grow up in a house where his parents loved each other or got along so his idea of what love looks like and how he expresses and experiences it is related to that. Look at the convo they had in the hotel. Sada isn’t a romantic and he doesn’t take it all that seriously. He isn’t very good with love and tends to be more sexual without feelings. The Twitter comics show this and that he was attacked by a man he slept with. I can’t remember if he was stabbed or just threatened with a knife since it’s been a while. But I believe there was physical domestic violence. So there are implications in that comic that he pretty much dated/slept with a bunch of losers and was never really in love. Based on that, Mamiya appears to be his most thoughtful and deep romantic connection. Sada is a nice and thoughtful guy on the outside, and is considerate inside as well. However, he’s more cold emotionally than he seems because he puts on a warm sociable persona. Which seems to be part of what got him into trouble with his previous partners. He isn’t the type to pour out emotions and gush over a partner and say I love you. His love is shown through his consideration for Mamiya as he gets to know him.
For example, when they travel planning to kill the man who used to be Mamiyas friend and that sexually assaulted him and got him bullied, Sada notices Mamiya tried to plan a fun trip for him when he sees the bookmarks in a travel book and realizes that Mamiya adjusted the hot tub in advance so it would be a comfortable and safe temperature for Sada. This marks a shift where he starts seeing Mamiya as cute. Mamiya is a textbook tsundere and Sada notices this. That’s why when Mamiya lets down his guard and basically plays footsie with Sada because he feels safe with him, Sada makes a move on Mamiya sexually. For Sada, sex is how he connects with romantic partners. But he realizes Mamiya is scared of sex. So he makes compromises for Mamiya’s comfort (his fear of going beyond dry humping) and I think that is one of the ways we see Sada’s love for Mamiya. Another is when he finds the scars on Mamiya after the hot tub events. He realizes the bullying was worse than he understood and that those guys tortured Mamiya. The next day he says they can kill the guy he was previously opposed to killing because he has a better idea of what he did to Mamiya.

This feels so one sided lol. And close to Stockholm syndrome??? Wahahahaha either way, sada has a high tolerance for bullshit for not hating this man despite him getting tortured and sexually harassed. Lolz. He's so nonchalant??? And fuck, he didn't deserve all of this. :(((
