I read from another guideverse bl, I guess it is because the imprint is one sided. Mc and ml did when they were in love but now ml refuse their connection. I guess it does affect on both of them.

If I remember it correctly, when an esper and a guide imprinted each other, they need to be together for their betterment but they also have radiating guide so they can't get near with each other that much. That settings is tripping yall or I just did not remember it correctly.
