If she were a boy yes, he would be a love interest, but author made her a female bcz it didn't really focus on romance just like a Strong type of love bond between them. And if she were a teenager it would be forced to b Yuri (it should've been Yuri...tch) and both their mls were decided beforehand. Sera got Edmund and elide got the basilisk dude. Idr want romance but I don't actually mind it. That's what I think, My opinion.
