I may be wrong so. Basically, There's a list of candidates to fill in as the crown prince's Chamberlain since the last one was killed by the crown prince for his treacherous betrayal. . That Baron and his faction wanted that position too. They appointed a puppet for them to control. Besides that, he involves himself in narcotic and trade illegal slave.
Arzen family, the fl father was one of the promising candidate to fill that position though he himself is not interested. Therefore, the baron and his faction planted a seed of betrayal towards Arzen family by spreading rumours through that singer. They try to make Arzen was planning for rebellion when infact Arzen is loyal to the royal family. Even the king doubted the rumours but rumours were spreading like wildfire. So the royal family send our male lead to investigate Arzen family. Our female is investigating and protecting her family.
