Just because it's tame in comparison to other works, it doesn't mean it's not. That's not an argument. You don't have to justify and call something clearly toxic 'nice' in order to enjoy it.
I really don't understand people sometimes, if you don't like this kind of stuff, please read something else.
People can call the relationship depicted 'toxic', since this is what it is, without it meaning they don't like the work. You don't have to lie and pretend the relationship in the story is healthy to be able to enjoy it. For me it's more weird when people pretend that clearly toxic actions are 'nice' just because they can't come to terms with the fact that they enjoy fictional toxicity. Personally i like this dynamic, even if it's toxic. However i don't pretend it's something else.

No, they straight up state it's not toxic at all, alter all you want the statements done, it doesn't really make my point invalid :) And I'm not acting like i'm better, this sounds more like a projection on your part, i must have hit a nerve. As for the 'complaining', it's not black or white. Mentioning one aspect of a character in the story, be it perceived as negative or not, doesn't necessarily mean someone hates the story nor that they hate the aspect mentioned at all. Also, do you discuss things only when they are 'serious' ? This was a comment criticising other comments and since it adheres to your beliefs, it's all nice but mine that doesn't, is suddenly deserving of a "it's not that serious" response? lol Point taken
At what point did I say it wasn’t toxic? I said it was tamer compared to other toxic-er yaois I’ve read. I never said anything about this story not being toxic. And atp in the story the toxicity level is very low since literally nothing has happened yet. All you can really say is that the ML is an asshole and the MC puts up with it bc he needs information from him.
And I’ve seen people saying the ‘arousal effect’ is the toxic part, but you’re reading YAOI, that much is expected. 80% of yaois nowadays include SA and I’m not saying it’s okay but they should expect this kind of thing by now. And if they don’t like it, don’t read it?

Although your 'actual toxic yaoi' statement was a bit confusing over its intention, i got the general gist. My earlier comment wasn't necessarily aimed at you, it was mostly focused on comments like Monypixh's "there's nothing toxic about it" take, and similar ones I've seen in this thread. I wasn't 'twisting' your words. Also, it was mostly point out how it being more tame, doesn't mean it doesn't exist or that people shouldn't point it out if they want to.
That said, I still stand by my point in general: saying something is "lighter" or "tamer" doesn't erase the toxicity that's still present, which you actually agree with, since you acknowledged it's toxic,but on the lower end. So we're not as far apart as it might've seemed.
As for the "don’t like, don’t read" part, I don't think it applies here. People can recognize toxicity and still enjoy the story, pointing it out isn't the same as hating it. That's the distinction I was trying to make, which a lot of people here love to ignore. Perhaps it interrupts their own criticism around these people. Who knows.
