I really loved the plot and the art and no hate to the author but why does every seme needs to be that black flag deep down and green flag on the outside i don't get it why they have to push that dark possession trope in every yaoi these like i know you can ad depth to Andrew's character without having to add that dark possessive trait I'm possessive at some level is good and adds to the plot but here it's just not sitting right with me it's making this story just blend in with the other trash yaoi but i was really liking the plot until this really bad attempt yo keep the plot moving

Perhaps you’re projecting a little? You should give author-nim credit for making Andrew self-aware of his darker thoughts and the fact that he's not acting on them. If the case were that he was already trying to monopolize Luke then there’d be some merit to what you’re saying.

It would be nice if readers reserved certain judgments until the story reaches further into their relationship. They’re still fresh into things.

You say you love the plot, but are you actually reading the story? Because Andrew’s position is explained and it makes sense why he clings so much to Luke as he’s the first person to actually be genuine and loves him for him. So I kinda don’t understand what your position is in this case…

no I'm not projecting anything just stating my opinion on something I am reading because thats what people who use their critical thinking do and we are already in season 2 so i don't how far you want to go into the story and that's what i also think even if luke is the first person who is genuine and loves him doesn't mean that you have to make the seme just unable to do anything without them as you have seen the chapter where he hurts himself so that luke pays attention to him if we are reading the same story, and also the obsession of you people with the black flag archtype is good if that's what you enjoy i also like stories with the complexity that need to have a black flag but the author these days just like abuse this trope in everything that there's no difference between stories these days and you can enjoy something, criticize it their is no need to be people police here just because you can not agree with my point

No need for the passive aggressive jabs. No one is policing your opinion, but you’re talking as if Andrew’s personality is recycled when nothing could be further from the truth. Author-nim confirmed the incident was just that — an accident — he didn’t intentionally hurt himself.

Again, it’s weird to lump characters in the same pool without acknowledging the authenticity of the characters when they’ve been properly fleshed out.

I agree with you. And people need to stop throwing "black flags" around like it's drinking water. Andrew is red flag at most. Nowhere near black flag lol

He’s hardly a red flag either. Andrew is quite aware of his flaws and pragmatic to boot. He clings to Luke because he’d been neglected as a child and for most of his school life had been bullied.
He acknowledges he and Luke may not last and so wants to enjoy the time he has with him. He’s not interfering with Luke’s life or trying to control him.
So again, I’m really not seeing the black/red flags ppl are trying to push Andrew into.
The story already has a villain — it isn’t Andrew.

huh? wdym black flag not even red..? he's literally far from that?? andrews been alone and he isolated himself since he was young because of what he went through from the past i think that's one of the reason he's sooo attached to luke this is the first time he feels this way to someone and with luke this is where he receives the love he truly deserve especially to someone who would do anything to protect him idk why y'all trying to make this story toxic when it's not lol

It’s a spectacle that has to be studied. There are enough stories where toxicity reigns supreme, we finally get a story where both leads are genuine and a lot more mature than some readers want to give them credit for, and we’re seeing them actively trying to twist Andrew’s character to fit whatever narrative they’ve got going on in their head just because of one questionable scene.

I normally don’t even comment but I hate when a character, who’s been presented so clearly, gets mischaracterized.
