Well, the story arc starts right after their dating rumors. Youngguk goes back to his hometown for a vacation and is still feeling confused about how he feels about Yeonsoo. There he has an encounter with a new scriptwriter and producer and decides to take on their drama (his character is a mermaid prince and the FL is a conglomerate heiress). He suggests Yeonsoo for the role and asks Yeonsoo to not go to America and work with him. As they start working, Youngguk becomes sure of his feelings for Yeonsoo and they start dating. This is when their photos get leaked again and Youngguk arranges a press conference to admit that He's dating Yeonsoo. But Yeonsoo's CEO doesn't let her go to the conference because if the public response to the news is bad, she's likely to get more backlash. However, she sneaks out of the agency and goes to conference and also confirms that they're dating. And the public response to it is good as well because of their drama pairing. The story then jumps to the epilogue with a 10 year time skip.
Did they just cut off an entire story arc? Tf.
