She said that if he was going to keep pushing this, she might as well take him up on it and offer Esdra the biggest dowry she can, and I suspect she’ll also have her own money from that. As for why she didn’t just wait for Cesare to show up, to me it’s just a matter of pride and wanting to be in control. Instead of just waiting for him to show up.

although i like that she pointed out that at least the other guy wouldn't do his despicable ways, but i still don't get her thought process for "offering" her body? did I miss any subtle hints the previous chapter?
