In the novel she stayed in her position as an empress for her son. But she never really "loved" the emperor as much as she did before. They almost have like an amicable relationship. She doesn't hate nor love the emperor. But the emperor really took this chance to win her trust and love again. But she never really gave her heart to the emperor.
Well, that doesn't sound hald bad, at least both of them learned their lessons and now they have to live with what they did.

Yup , it does get really better and cute and really wholesome . There's also a bit of drama , but I think you should read it again .

I started reading this years ago and initially liked it, but I was already fed up with it the moment the child was acknowledged as an imperial prince because everything had come back to the starting point. The FL was again trapped as an empress and in a loveless marriage, making all she tried useless.
I don't even remember what episode is that but it's when I stopped reading. So, does it improve at any moment? Does the emperor start caring for the FL a little bit? Or does she manage to escape again and live her life freely, like she wanted to?
