He isn’t upset per se but as he saw him leave him with Jay (that scene where he was shot) he felt that the thing he possessed or “owned” went away and left him. It’s like a weird obsession. He wants the MC to start working with him again I.e use him again as cannon fodder and emotional support lol. I read the raws MTL so I think once it’s translated officially we’ll get a better understanding.

I think it’s an original work if I remember correctly but I’m not 100%
But I got the gist from the raws on RIDI. They’re at chapter 48?. 40-42 is their reunion, chat and the gun shot scene.
