I don't think it's lazy, because the Kannagi are painted to be pretty and angelic, and of course there a men who think they own a right to that. It happens so often in real life and I would rather say that's a realistic accept. It's disgusting and I hate that many of the Kannagi had to go through that. Not child sexual abuse, but physical and mental abuse. At least that's how I view that's its not lazy writing

Yeah it’s just like you have creative freedom when writing fictional stories and could create unique storylines and instead draw child rape like almost every other tape author also why I call it lazy because almost every yaoi author uses the same storyline for tragic backstories. I’m just like it’s 2025 can we please not write SA anymore you know. It’s overdone and gross.

it’s just like you said, people have the freedom to write what they want. idk what kinds you’ve been reading, but i don’t read a lot of stories with SA in them. but even when i do, i don’t think it’s “gross” or “overdone”. that stuff happens every second in real life, if the authors want to highlight it, bring attention to it, then why would i complain? how is it lazy to write about a very real occurrence? if you wanted an entirely wholesome story, there are thousands of it out there.

This isn't a challenge on who's read more and who ultimately "knows more", abuse/ rape is not only existing within the genre of BL, it exists in so much more other genres and media. Most in common glorified/ unnecessary abuse/ rape against women. (I am OBVIOUSLY not saying there also aren't deceptions of violence against men, there are. But commonly unnecessary SA against female characters is there.)
And this story is one of the stories that it's author is not introducing these themes as something erotic or fetishy. The nobles are extremely corrupt and wrong in their ways, that we know. It's being brought an extra mile to show how vile they are because they have no sexual boundaries and chose to prey on whoever they wanted, including children.
This is something that directly reflects reality. We heard of politicians being involved in child porn and child trafficking rings. Where there is corruption, there is sexual abuse. Even against children. Another example, where there war, there is a high number of SA cases, soldiers unlawfully forcing themselves on men, women, children. Corruption follows with SA, because SA is about being "dominant" and how much "power" they hold over their victims.
And in this story it clearly portrays that, there is no instance in which child SA occurring is shown as something else than what it already is. There's no glorification or sexualisation. And it's sad that you are watering this down just to "using child rape as a tragic backstory is lazy writing." This story does not revolve around SA, nor does SA define the characters that have gone through it. There is so much more to this story and yet you chose to only focus on that and undermine everything else.
Saying SA is overdone is hurtful for many people affected. When SA is done right in media, it allows a chance for the victims feelings and experiences to be validated and not only that— the predators hiding behind the screens will get uncomfortable. There was a comedy show (Moral Orel) canceled because of an episode that accurately portrayed what SA did to a victims well being and mind, and there were viewers and producers who thought "it wasn't funny" despite the previous amounts of SA jokes told in previous episodes. They were uncomfortable when SA was served to them in a form they didn't like. What SA really was.
So I don't think the SA is unnecessary. And in this story, it's not written as an overdone theme or for tragic backstory points. SA done by the nobles was brought attention to and showed how awful and corrupt they were, plus the struggles Kananagi had to face just because they were 'Kananagi'. If it's uncomfortable to you, I completely understand. You can chose not interact with this media.
Why does every historic yaoi have child rape in it. Like my god shitty lazy writing. Come up with a better tragic backstory please.
