I think he had a plan bc she looked like she was under control with something else or it might be psychological damage kinda like how after years being forced to obey it just felt natural and it’s usually instilled with fear caused by that person of rejecting that order and having to obey it even if ur free buuuuut idk the spell pretty much sure is broken
Yeah I think it's similar to what you said but there was definitely something more at play too cause she was refusing verbally but physically she couldn't control herself
Might be something to do with how they made those peculiar staffs and what not
