There are 5 volumes. It's really good--the depth and psychology of the characters are described so much better than the webtoon.

    free? kaseyka

The first volume is free. Then, you have to subscribe to read the rest ($5/month). The translations for all 5 volumes are finished now though, so if this is the only bl novel you want to read (not others that are also being translated), you could subscribe for 1 month and binge read the whole series.

I'm almost done. I ended up rereading the first 4 volumes, so I'm still on the last part of the last volume (proposal in New Zealand arc). I could provide spoilers, but I'm not sure I'd be able to do the novel justice it's a lot better to read it.

nujnah_eajyu gives some long novel spoilers in the review section here: https://xbato.org/series/149517/starstruck-mature-official

If you have questions, I can try to answer them ^^

thank you. is there no conflict?

yw ^^ there are conflicts, but nothing really heart-wrenching or dramatic. There's no third party or anything like that. Most of the "conflicts" that they have are because Han Jun keeps things from Yu Jae, which leads to some misunderstandings. Yu Jae's really understanding (even when he was stood up or ghosted by Han Jun) and always asks or waits until Han Jun is ready to talk about it.

Yu Jae also insists that whenever they get into an argument that they use polite language to talk with one another, so that they always respect one another.

There are some perhaps "happy" conflicts too, like Han Jun wanting to do it more, but Yu Jae wanting to do it only in moderation because he wants their love to last a life time and for Han Jun to still want to do it with him when they're like 50+ years old lol

lol, the biggest fight they had is the one before they got together. The webtoon actually does a really bad job portraying it, making Yu Jae look like a huge jerk by messaging Han Jun the next day (after their kiss in the locker room) like nothing happened. However, after Yu Jae kissed Han Jun, he was in shock over his own behaviour (that he liked the kiss, etc.) and couldn't sleep that night because he kept thinking about his future with Han Jun and how he could maintain it forever. He thought that love/dating relationships were fleeting since his parents fought against opposition to marry for love, just for that love to disappear and turn to hatred (his whole childhood was filled with his parents fighting). He didn't want Han Jun and his relationship to turn out the same way. After having experienced Han Jun disappearing on him once (after Han Jun's first confession with the chocolates back in high school), he knew he couldn't keep Han Jun waiting because Han Jun could do something drastic (like disappearing on him again) so he would need to make a decision asap and talk to Han Jun the next day. He planned to do so (Yu Jae had already planned to date Han Jun seriously at this point), but he was so sleep-deprived that he wasn't fully functioning.

When Yu Jae went to class the next morning, he purposely sat next to Han Jun. But he didn't realize that because he wanted to be careful with Han Jun, he sat at the edge of the seat, which Han Jun misunderstood as Yu Jae being uncomfortable with him. Yu Jae was so tired that he ended up falling asleep in class. When class ended, Han Jun picked up the courage to ask Yu Jae if he wanted to have lunch together. Yu Jae knew they needed to talk but thought it would be best if he went home to take a nap first, so he could talk with Han Jun with a clear head. So, he told Han Jun that he was going to go home to take a nap and then to meet for dinner that night instead. Han Jun was anxious but agreed.

However, after Han Jun left the class. The girl who was having a one-sided fling with Yu Jae (Min Jae? forgot her name) forced Yu Jae to go to the school cafeteria with her for lunch. Yu Jae said no, but ultimately had to go because she pressured him about how he and Han Jun gave her a hard time with their group project and that they needed to clear up misunderstandings between them (iirc). Yu Jae went with her to talk but left pretty quickly and went home for a nap. However, Han Jun had gone to the cafeteria too and saw Yu Jae there with her before Yu Jae left. So, he misunderstood the whole thing and left and went to the sea. As soon as Yu Jae woke up from his nap, he texted Han Jun to ask him if he wanted to go eat (so that they could finally talk things out). This is the text message that we see in the webtoon at the end of season 1.

Yu Jae just wanted to take a short nap and have a little more time to sort out his thoughts, make sure that he was ready to take their relationship further and ensure that it lasts. So, when Han Jun disappeared for the second time, just because Yu Jae wanted a few extra hours to think (from Yu Jae's perspective), Yu Jae was devastated. He felt like Han Jun didn't care about him as much as he cared about Han Jun and that Han Jun was threatening him, that if he disobeyed Han Jun's request even a little, Han Jun would disappear even though Yu Jae cared so deeply for Han Jun. So, he wondered, "When I have nothing left to give, how do I hold on to Seo Han-jun? How do I keep ‘us’?"
