I agree with you!! BL authors and majority of the readers are really sick in the head lately. 12 dislikes is insane. It‘s become pretty much normalized for MCs to be the typical „small weak fragile naive uwu uke“ while the MLs are also the most toxic shit out there and of course they always end up together even if its unhealthy asf, even if it becomes „good“ in the end. Very avoidable, a lot of unnecessary shit to go through. MCs always end up forgiving too for some reason.
And exactly this trope has become #1 in BL lately. Every new BL with this trope is becoming more and more insane, some ML‘s even killing ukes family members or friends and torturing uke both physically and mentally but its all some kind of „twisted love“ with the typical shitty ass backstory where the majority of the retarded readers do mental gymnastics and overanalyze every single little thing to justify MLs doings. And the ukes are all 160cm femboys with anorexia. People forget they are both MEN. Whys it always this specific route? Is it a fetish or a kink from the authors? For the readers too im pretty sure. I miss when BLs had actually good plot and lore, and 18+ scenes were a special thing.
Now its: Uke with a sad backstory -> meets ML -> ML exploits Uke -> ML gets justified with some backstory for his actions -> Uke forgives and „happy end“ and RINSE AND REPEAT
Man the authors are really pissing me off. I read this incase of having hopes like you that the „second ML“ might have a chance but of course not. Raise your head!! Theres a lot of people out there who still think like you
i rarely ever comment here bc sharing my opinions isnt really my thing, but it’s been a while since a BL has pissed me off, especially bc of the bottom. whats wild to me is that Ju-hyun gets upset over Minwoo “overstepping” his boundaries, but not at the playboy who took advantage of his drunken, virgin state when he had no ability to consciously consent. not only that, Ju-hyun also got upset that Minwoo chose to be the bigger person and ignored him, knowing their friendship was practically over. Ju-hyun didn’t even try to reach out after Minwoo confessed. all he said was“is this it? our friendship will end just like that? :/”like… ur still expecting him to solve every little issue for u, despite constantly preaching, “im an adult! i can do things myself!” he didn’t even try to save his greatest friendship (since preschool btw) i usually side with the bottom, bc most of the time they’re the ones being taken advantage of, and the authors never give them an ounce of dignity. but Ju-hyun is literally ragebait. i don’t feel sorry for him at all after the way he treated Minwoo like replaceable trash. like why did he think it was a great idea to say “I feel the same way” when his best friend confessed, js to end it with “...for him”?? Like, why even get his hopes up? I get that he’s not obligated to love Minwoo back, but cmon bro. out of all ppl, he chooses the one who clearly dgaf about him (yet)?? part of this is my fault too. i was bored and too lazy to check the summary or even look at the cover before diving in. i read the whole thing in one go without returning to the page. i could’ve saved myself so much misery js by noticing that Minwoo wasn’t even on the damn cover. im not even that mad anymore, since the raws revealed Ju-hyun being pregnant. its been a while since I felt this much joy seeing a character face the consequences of their actions. maybe if Ju-hyun had listened to Minwoo (yk, the alpha who warned him about the playboy alpha who only wanted him bc he resembled his ex) none of this would’ve happened! ik this is long, but I js had to share my two cents about this godawful manhwa. And yes, I am planning to drop it before the hardcore yaoi weirdos flood in to tell me, “just drop it if you don’t like dark romance.”im only sticking around for the english pregnancy chapter so I can get a good laugh at Ju-hyun’s expense. anyway, I’m just glad Minwoo saved himself from a bum like Ju-hyun bc he deserves so much better.
