The story isn't over yet. The last updated chapter revealed a rat that was pregnant, who ate food grown from that soil, had to have the fetuses removed from her, because the babies were growing too quickly. This put too much pressure on the mothers organs, and with no time for the body to slowly expand over time, her skin would have ripped open.
This means, that something about the orcs soil is causing the issue.
This is my theory, so it isn't a spoiler, but I think that the Academy may have poisoned the soil of the orc packs and given them the blanket to transfer pregnancies, with the intended effect of humans wanting to exterminate the orcs in return. The Academy would make a large profit off a very small investment, which could last them generations. It's incredibly fucked, but that is the capitalism way.

Oh, I loved it actually! I just suck ass at math, and untreated ADHD at the time, can make trying to work a weed wacker dangerous!
I joined a program called Job Corps, and that trade matched my personality test scores. None of the 3 trades I tried out worked for me, so my scores were used to determine a better fit. My options were cooking or landscaping. And I am a cooking hazard.
The program is for 16-24 year olds, who are impoverished. I technically didn't have a stable home since 12, so when I turned 18, I enrolled in the program. Both the best and worst experience of my life! Lol!

Oh wow that’s so endearing!! I’m a lazy sack of shit that’s probably why it didn’t occur to me that landscaping could be fun, but no amount of experience is in vain, it’ll come in handy again even if it’s about a weird fantasy yaoi somehow lol! So if u can’t cook or landscape what are you doing now? Or still figuring that part out?

Nope, got the worst luck of the dice ever. The landscaping actually helped a lot, especially because we had to do group exercise 3 times a week. After that, labor jobs of any kind were super fun for me. I like getting physically strong.
Unfortunately, when I was 24, I developed a chronic migraine disorder. I also found out that I am likely autistic (both my bio parents were, so this checks out), that I have a non life threatening cyst in my brain, that I have likely had and only recently been diagnosed with PMDD, and there is a possibility that I could develop some other fun genetic stuff later on.
Apparently, most of the other issues I had, besides the ADHD, were nowhere near as debilitating as the migraine disorder. It's called vestibular migraines, which really just means migraine with vertigo, and I also have migraines with aura. Lol, I have a hyperfixation in medical knowledge, so we could be here all day, and I would never run out of shit to talk about. Like, the amount of, you shouldn't be here, that my ass simply refused, is actually crazy af. Lol
But what became of the odds and their dirt?
