Gas was leaking, it got damaged somehow i think
It was already low even before the damage.
I think they had half tank when Josh said they're running low (which is not true but idk, some cars consume more gas), he was prolly thinking that what they have was not enough to lose the kidnappers(?). Then the tank got damaged from all the shooting. Just guessing tho
What's with all the craziness? No gas, really? Shouldn't you have it always in full or at least have some kind of extra for emergencies? Decoy, why there's none? And why tell an outsider where you're going? If I'm Chase, I'll fire everyone. Hahaha. But oh well, anything for the plot.
