It’s better to read the novel bc in that version the family were devastated when the brainwashing came undone. Aisha was having a hard time forgiving them, in fact she hated them more in the novel.
Marianne was also just pure evil too. She was obsessed with the older bro which was her main reason of wanting to be Alisa (The manwha changed how they switch places and her past).
Another thing, the older brother and Aisha DID NOT pity for Marianne. Once the brain washing came undone he resented her. Marianne didn’t like that so she stabbed him multiple times (I believe that Marianne came at Aisha with a knife and he protected Aisha which pissed Marianne off) ).
I don’t know but as a novel reader this arc was so much darker in the novel and the emotions were handled way better. Alisa’s family too were different as well.
Ngl, that was anticlimactic for me. Mari did not deserve this much kindness either from FL or the OG brother. I wanted revenge and groveling, I really hate forgiveness tropes of not only this horrible of people, but also with such absurd reasons for how far they went. Why do they always gotta make FL all nice and forgiving? I dire you Aisha, but I wish you were pettier.
