Gwen (pink hair) does not die. Both he and Amon were near death, but no, they don’t die. Nain “dies” but not in the sense of what you’re thinking — he becomes a ghost as he fades (why/how this happens would mean revealing a mega spoiler) and only Amon and Gwen can see him. Eventually he comes back. This all takes place in the ending. And there’s no end game ml, it’s open ended. Nain chooses himself. People are saying they become a poly, and in a way they do, but not the way everyone is thinking. There’s no romance between Gwen and Amon and Nain has no romance/sexual love for Gwen or Amon anymore. Bittersweet ending.

Firstly, Amon is a dragon. Nain was once a commoner human 500 years ago that Amon met and they fell in love. Unfortunately, Nain was brutally sacrificed to Amon by worshippers. Amon saved his life by eating him and then creating him immortal/godly via Amon’s magic. This will be hinted at when Amon says food tastes like ash to him and he only tasted one good thing ever (Nain). The whole creation of the palace and everything Nain has was once what Nain requested of Amon/Nain’s wishes. Nain has a physical form now but if he loses his will to live he will disappear and become a “ghost” only Gwen and Amon can see because they can use magic. Amon and Gwen fight to the death over Nain, mortally wounding each other, and Nain pretty much has enough and disappears to wander the world as a ghost. Amon and Gwen don’t die though (I think Gwen heals them both) and they decide to ally together to create a better place so Nain will return. Which he does but he doesn’t love them like he once did. Side note: Amon is morally grey. Nain is his mate so he genuinely does love Nain but Amon is being seriously misled on how to care for Nain.
