canon story starts at chapter 43. everything before that comes from short little comics that old xian was publishing for an anthology series called 19 days (where this story got its title!)
anyway we start the canon finding out that jian yi and zhen xi were best friends up until a couple years before chapter 43 as jian yi was kidnapped and taken to an island. idk he’s weirder in these earlier chapter so he could be lying. either way he’s back home now and they’re 17 (i wanna say? idk seniors in high school age). they’re reunited and honestly the story stays pretty on track timeline wise. they fuck around, he tian is introduced and the little mo.
in chapter 440-444ish they’re all hanging out after leaving baldies place and he tian makes an offhand comment about leaving and then he does. he disappears and chapter 445 ends their high school era. we have some flashbacks throughout the story but they’re pretty clear to take place at certain points. the only things that aren’t attached are the christmas stories which take place directly after the time skip.
because as of chapter 446 the time skip happens! but the events of the christmas flash forwards technically start it off, being that’s when he tian shows up again after disappearing to make money to support mo. but judging from their closeness jian yi and zhen xi haven’t broken apart, getting “engaged” in the most recent chapter and hanging out for employment endeavors. but being that he tian has been gone for a few years little mo needs to build up his trust in him again.

Old Xian might have changed the storyline but I'm fairly certain their school day chapters are from Middle School. Jian yi only showed up for like one day of High School before disappearing and only reappeared when Xixi already graduated.
Recent chapters suggest that he tian went away for few years and then came back. Now that really threw me off on timeline
