honestly…

I am not surprised. Not even in the slightest. The author even warned us before hand that these warnings are gonna be a constant thing. As for people complaining about there not being a disclaimer about “ trying this at home “ … I fear that that’s clear common sense. I wouldn’t think most of you are crazy enough to try something like this. If you’re apart of that group of people who want to… maybe try talking to a professional and what not.
And I think some of you forget that Richard is FUCKING CRAZY? This should have been very evident from the earlier chapters. I practically knew Richard was gonna ask Courtney to do something like that because he’s into FAR WORSE THINGS (as he has made apparent). This is just scraping the surface of what’s yet to come.
You shouldn’t be scared now.. you were warned MULTIPLE TIMES?

I fear many people don't have common sense. I've seen so many comments where people were like yeah my partner accidentally choked me out/broke my neck or I know someone who died from erotic asphyxiation. I'm pretty sure it in part is because people are embarrassed or ashamed of kinky sex so they don't ask or are uncomfortable looking up the info, and in part because people aren't taught the basics of anatomy enough to realize that maybe putting pressure on the front of the throat is a really bad idea. Also people don't think about testing pressure first to make sure they don't accidentally choke out their partner I assume because they don't want to look "inexperienced" in sex.

In any case, it's unfortunately very much not common sense. I do think the people who want warnings are silly though, people are going to do what people are going to do even if they did see it done wrongly in media. Like I don't see people complaining that there should be warnings about not to normalize toxic relationships, despite it arguably being a more problematic issue. Also yeah, people were warned, a lot. If they somehow continued reading despite that, that's their problem.
