Most likely, + Ilya father's is a king showing favour for Ilya while the whole countries think lowly of Omega might give a negative impact instead. Though I'll say he's a shitty father, but I can understand where he's coming from as someone who grows up surrounded with different mindset with everyone and will be constantly judge if you act differently than them. At the same time I think Ilya's pos brother may have played a role in the King's declining health or maybe it's just me thinking too much though haha
I have to wonder, did Ilya's dad send him to Hanu bc he knew Hanu valued omegas? Ilya mentioned it didn't make sense to send him, his father told him to go home asap, and Thorne said it had been their father's sole decision...maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I do hope that Ilya's father cared for him in some way and wanted him to go somewhere he could thrive. I mean, still a shitty father in general, but I want to believe the father in him came out when he considered who to give Ilya away to, instead of the king
