This. I wanted to reread the story after seeing the fluffy side chapters but the earlier chapters got me messed up and I couldn’t even continue. I think the only reason a lot of others including myself were able to keep up with this story was because you just needed to know everything would turn out ok with Euihyun and Euiyoung. Then there was the notorious rut scene and that literally made me take a break from the story (I did eventually finish cuz again needed to know what happened to the two brothers ╥﹏╥ ). Thinking back on the whole plot Euihyun is degraded so many times by Taeju. I had to stop rereading after the scene where Taeju is so angry and petty towards him for being “prideful” and not gratuitously taking on his offer of only selling himself to him. Taeju literally watches another man touch Euihyun while he is very much in distress even if he had given “consent” (not even cuz it’s only the situation that has led him to this point and thought process) just to prove a point that he is the better and only option for Euihyun? The author did very well on writing just how hopeless everything seemed for Euihyun. You could truly feel and understand his mind state and struggles and this is why it’s so hard to like Taeju even with how much he has changed. Love Euihyun and Euiyoung tho and ofc Haewol.

Finally got around to reading this. The author is really good at using fluff to distract you from how sickening and sad the main story was. I mean Euihyun suffered so much, was humiliated and was brutally raped by the man that “loves him” and all that was forgiven because of a so called “redemption arc”. It’s Stockholm syndrome if anything, and yea it’s just a story but I would have liked to see Taeju suffer more at least
