I really don't understand how their concern works...they are worried she'll be mistreated by her loved one so they let her marry a scum who takes lots of concubines, whips her and abused her in any way?
I think the parents know that even royalty have a concubine, and they have a favorite one ss well, they fear their daughter will be mistreated in the palace not by the prince but by the concubine itself.
Let your daughter marry to the eldest prince, both loved each other, well I knew that they worry about status and all but the happiness of their daugther is rigth there with the man she love the most.
