THE GOD OF PAIN'S GROOM! Which defied everything back then! I was shocked in a good way that the author was so decisive with it because even the novel had a completely different ending! And even though it wasn't a decision made during the first season of the series, I think plot-wise it made so much sense for them to be together. They fit SO SO well! I love what they did with all of the characters there :)
So happy seeing people mention it in 2025!
Omggg i didn't read the novel but to think the ml was switched to 2nd ml whether it was for readers or just authors own choice, is absolutely awesome...
because it seriously made me and readers so happy i still remember the comment section!
It was my first time reading a manga where 2nd ml was given chance and chosen by mc so i absolutely cannot forget that manga

I didn't either but I read somewhere that the MC doesn't end with anyone actually, he ends up alone... but even the author hated that ending so they decided to do what the readers wanted and even mentioned how it worked better because it just felt right! It was absolutely something else!!!
The only other big popular work that I know where this happened too is a shoujo manga, I was SO happy and super shocked the mangaka went for it, too!

We seriously need more stories like this as a plot twist, there's like barely any stories where 2nd ml is given chance
I remember reading a yaoi where the 2nd ml was loved and cheered so much because of the toxicity the original ml had that the author made mc end up with 2nd ml
I dont remember if it was actually because of that but whatever, i just hope it's the same case here
