It’s refreshing to find someone who feels the same way. I often read watchers of Skip Beat commenting on how the romance is taking too long to develop. Whereas I find myself relating to you, I truly feel the same way of wanting the best for Kyouko and her growth as an actress. I also look forward to her journey unfold as she pursues her dreams. Maybe that’s why I have a hard time letting go of this Manga and why it has a special place in my heart. But I also do feel a sense of attachment for each of the characters because they represent certain ideologies when it comes to life and chasing your down your dreams relentlessly. I have no objection with Kyouko finding love (except for the age gap thingy, which was a red flag I wasn’t able to detect when I was younger and didn’t know any better.)
But I do like your point at you looking forward to seeing Kyouko rediscover love, for herself and others even if it’s not romantic. I think Skip Beat shines because of the friendships and how it can portray love in all its shades and complexity. That it can be beautiful but unbelievably painful as well.
Sorry, I got off a tangent but I really liked your comment LMAO ..

Rewatching the anime made me realize that idgaf about the romance (the romance is not romancing for me), I just really like Kyouko to grow as a great actress and people discovering how amazing she is too. Discovering what she want for herself and trying to rediscover love, it doesn’t have to be romantic sense. I also like the other actors too. Sho is such a dick in the beginning bruh I’m glad she’ll never fall in love with him again
Edit spoiler:
bruh I just finished the anime and pls the way they’re justifying loving a minor and 19 year age gap(this isn’t between Ren and Kyouko but she’s still a minor) classic old shojou anime. Also first off they’re 16 you guys left during/after middle school??? Couldn’t they have left when the were 18
