That's false equivalence. Those two points you bring up are completely irrelevant. So according to you anyone who doesn't have the means to legally consume content and chooses to pirate instead shouldn't be allowed to critique the questionable plot choices of said media? This story blatantly romantisized abuse and sexual assaults and tried to get pity points for the perpetrator just because he had a hard childhood. Critically consuming media is what makes everyone grow and understand what is right and what shouldn't be forgotten so easily. You questioning the morality of critiques for their piracy will not change the fact that the main character of this story is just bad.

Simplistically, OP said was: We are actually doing real life harm to a person (the author) & breaking a law— while complaining about fiction and those who are fans of that fiction. Yes—this is true. You are getting upset over it makes you look like you’re deflecting from the truth because you’re active in it. Two things can be true at the same time. You don’t have to pick a subjective side, because we are all on the side of wrongdoing here—hypocrisy is still a thing and i can’t take anyone’s moral-compass seriously while they are on this site w me.

Again, piracy has nothing to do with critiquing bad media. Why must calling out a bad plot be locked behind a paywall? Being a rapist apologist is far worse than pirating. Also, the author getting monetary gain from creating problematic stories is another thing to address but no-one is ready to have that argument yet.
Complaining about characters and morality in "toxic" bl while reading on a piracy site which is an actual crime is hilarious. The cognitive dissonance of bringing morality about JK did to kim dan while reading giving a penny to artists is hella funny. To thos people complaining y'all just dumb ass hoes and the story is gonna end up with them together lol
