That’s the vibe I got. The overall aesthetics actually give a more historically medieval vibe compared to complete fantasy. Not saying it’s totally accurate, not at all, just that it gives that vibe. Definitely a bit of fresh air considering how many fantasy series tend to follow the same fashion ideas.

Agreed. I'm so tired of reading stories that are supposed to be medieval and women are all wearing pencil skirts while men are wearing suits... lol Like, people had ridiculous sense of fashion, I get that, but we modernize the clothes too much makes the Magick go away, you know? I agree that it's a fresh air that we are missing from other stories.

I do agree with you guys, but my problem wasn't the historic fashion haha. Guys got poofy shorts on top of thighs? Awesome. Dumbass white wig? Love that. Odd silhouettes of historical dresses? That's my jam!!!
It is the "modern" clothes that I have an issue with. Like while side characters are allowed to look funny with the odd historical clothes, the main ones are clearly going for something different.
The main character's vest and coat look too big on him, and they don't make an appealing silhouette together. The zigzag pattern looks stupid, but more in a "sci-fi fashion" way, than any attempt to imitate historical fashion. I find that the colors also clash a bit, but that's a personal preference.
The maid's dress is what inspired me to finally write this comment. That lilac doesn't go with her red vibe at all. It was supposed to sit on her loosely like silk, but the way it was bunched up on top made it look like poorly sewn cotton.
I'm not a prude, so I don't care if all the female characters have big boobs in tight tops, but a lot of the dresses just aren't working. To the point where maybe a historically accurate corset and dress would accentuate the curves better than whatever silky revealing top they have on.
Thank you all for coming to my old-man-yelling-at-cloud hour.

I took a second look at their outfits and honestly I still disagree with you, but it’s a point of opinion. I’ve seen dresses like hers, where the top is bunched and that’s the intention, whereas the bottom is the smooth part. It’s not my personal cup of tea, but I’ve seen enough designs like that. Personally I’d just raise the sleeves a little, but that’s about it. The lilac and red also doesn’t clash that heavily imo, especially with the white of her hair.
Personally I just don’t see what you’re seeing, ain’t nothing wrong with that though. I personally enjoyed his outfit as well.
I have to say this, because it's on my mind since chapter one, but the fashion in this is god awful. I'm not even really complaining !! Like it's certainly more interesting to look at than some safer choices. But the colors, the way the fabric is layered or how it sits on the body (especially the dresses) is just ugly
