I agree so hard. The plot is so… disappointing. I was so hyped since a mother daughter revenge thing was something I’ve never read but the entire thing falls flat. Like when they just magically heal her eyesight and try to explain how she got her eyesight back with the “priest” pretending her eyesight was “floating around in the air”??? Come on… like I know it supposed to be a lie but that lie was so shit it makes the characters look fucking stupid. The author for the sake of making the revenge work makes the plot feel rushed, bland and senseless. We keep chasing the next shiny scene - the ball, the magic competition, etc - while sacrificing the characters’ motives, depth and basic likability. These characters feel like horrible parodies of themselves! Sawyer is just reduced to “a guy these two girls want to have” instead of a real person, Catherine who arguably should have the most depth is just “some bitch” and even the FL’s daughter is just so ridiculously bland?? I wish we spent more time focusing on their mother daughter relationship rather than romance, their relationship is so singularly focused on revenge I just feel so detached from the main characters…
This was good at first but the plot holes are driving me crazy. They just shoved scenes in the to force chemistry between the fl and the mage when it doesn't make any sense. Also she should at least be in her late 30s yet somehow looks exactly as she did when she was wayyy younger. And if this mf was at the orphanage she used to visit, why does SHE look like the younger one?
Like the plot is amazing and I was excited to see mother-daughter revenge plot and got straight bullshit.
Like she went through all that shit and died and you're telling me she let someone just body check the fuck out of her and send her literally flying backwards, only to just give him the gentle parenting scold?? Like girl stand up!
And where the fuck was the mage in her past life? If he knew her from wayyy before, why didn't he help her? Atp I like Isel more than the fl because she doesn't just let assholes walk all over her.
These cliche ass scenes that just force the ml in when they have literally no real chemistry is giving us nothing. I don't even like him and this story would be 10x better if it wasn't romance and was just a mother-daughter revenge story where they take everything and live happily together.
