Do you know those tiktok shows where MC is being treated horribly by everyone and she has to compete with a girl over ML? and every time they have a competition MC magically does everything perfectly but because of bullshit the rival girl is still in the race because of some convenient excuse? it's that.
MC is not entirely a mary sue, but she's pretty much flawless if you ignore her Cinderella situation with her family hating her.
ML is an ugly spineless bastard loser who's supposed to be this ''tragic prince who can't do anything but watch his kingdom fall'' but they executed it pretty badly because not only the prince has enough power to jail all those corrupt nobles he loves to talk about but he also has the power to choose a good queen who can reform the kingdom but he never does either of these.
He just sits down and complains about how nobles are all evil but when it comes to taking care of them he just turns the other way and waits for it to resolve itself, thus dooming his own innocent people ''he cares about'' just because he's being petty about his past.
He also saw MC was a good woman and how she cares about the people but he's so spineless he just watches MC struggle to survive while the rival (who's a corrupt noble) is trying to kill her every week.

I already dropped the story because it was on a repeating cycle with the evil rival's schemes somehow keeping her in the race but from what I remember she gets kicked out of the race around 55-60
I haven't really read it since then but I'm guessing the story is the same, evil rival trying to get MC's position and ML being used as a puppet to do some plot convenience or something.
The reason he was between fiancees is because the king wants him to marry evil girl for position and power meanwhile ML is leaning more towards MC who's a picture perfect queen.
The reason he's undecisive is because of his past? I don't really remember but I think the queen or king was too controlling so he became a pity farmer who keeps saying ''I'll do whatever you say since you don't care anyway'' as a way to guiltrip them.
