MC and girlfriend can have their own issues and both can be criticized for it.
I never said that the girlfriend was a nice person either. And also, MC was quiet during her trash talking, it could be considered as enabling.
in my own comment post i did say i think he shld have been open about it instead of dragging it! dont worry i didnt neglect his fault but even when she was being a mean girl he stayed silent it was more of the other guys enabling her and tbh sometimes when u are someone who cant speak up (he shld have) things js go a certain way even though he clearly looks uncomfortable/wasnt as engaged as the other guys… maybe if she wasnt hating on others so much and being draining i wld fully support her but thats not the case is it
Yeahhh, no worries I get your point. I just find it refreshing with certain tropes like this: the girl actually calls the guy out for his flaws. Usually in other stories, the "girlfriend" would make a fuss rather than have an actual talk with the guy. Which is why I commended the girl for that.
I don't really criticize the gf that much cause she's just a side character. She's being used as a stepping stone/character development for the MC, which is why I'm more focused more on my thoughts on MC rather than the girl.
I understand where MC is coming from, but at the same time, that doesn't absolve the fact the he wasted his gf's time and treated her feelings lightly. I'm just glad that girl clocked that personality of his early on.
And while this issue is going on, him falling in love with ML felt like it lacked substance now imo. I don't think it's "emotional cheating" in a sense, but it's just feels off to me that these two things are happening at once.
