I won't call it basic but it's more to the author's signature (in this case, Mingwa's). The plot will go like: the uke likes the seme > uke's being used/seme hurts the uke (emotionally) > uke falls out of love (not fully) > seme suddenly realized uke is important to him > chasing arc
Kinda like that idk what I'm yapping. But yeah, we have our own opinions. As long as we don't be mean to those who don't share the same opinion with us. That should be fine.

I had said the very same things but not as nicely as you did here about the simps who keep coming back to see what other bad things JK will do next. People keep coming back because JK is drawn very hot. This is why despite proclaiming they hate JK and wish him all kinds of harm and killing himself, they want to see how hot JK will do to cutie patootie Kim Dan. People were so mad when I said they keep coming back because of how hot JK is. They have not seen someone so hot in manga and deep down they can’t give up the eye candy. In addition to what you said about the seme needs to be bad and the uke needs to be weak for th story to be interesting. It’s the plot point of the entirety of most of these yaoi. If people want a sweet yaoi with another hot guy, y’all can read PAYBACK. In that case the seme is sweet as candy and he’s the opposite of JK despite being a badass. The uke isn’t weak either. The haters of JK can drop this but I know they won’t because again )’ is drawn as very hot. And you won’t come across another seme who is this hot often.
Besides, what Kim Dan didn’t do to JK, the haters of JK more than made up. Every chapter have antis skinning JK alive. Maiming him. Wishing him to the 7th gates of hell. All sorts of ways he can die. Kim Dan does not need to do anything. The readers are doing plenty on his behalf.

Like you pointed out, this is a classic yaoi setup: seme being “bad” and uke being “weak” keeps the tension alive. Without that dynamic, a lot of readers would lose interest. But clearly, JK’s dangerous, toxic allure is what keeps them hooked. They swear they hate JK, but who’s the first in the comments every week drooling and raging at the same time? And they claim they have the right to "critic" -_- like yeah "I hate jk, kill urself" is such a constructive comment!!

They way u just explained their “signature” kinda proves my point. the trope is so basic and you see it in tons of other stories but the difference with this author is their last story was also apart of that trope but was a bit more exciting, this one just feels really lazy. I’m not being mean to anyone I’m just stating my opinion that the author should try something new, they have great art just sucky pacing and writing skills.

It’s definitely getting old, it’s had its run for some years but it’s starting to fade in a lot of areas. A lot of people are getting sick of the same old same old. ML is this abusive weirdo who has something to “make” poor mc stay, then mc leaves for some reason then abusive psycho “realizes” that they were “in love” with them or wtv, then we get some Pathetic back story that’s suppose to show us why this 20+ year old grown man could never change himself up until now. Then ML chases them down to some country side place. Then we don’t even get communication most of the time yet here☠ like it’s genuinely funny how bad this trope has become

It's more "predictable" than lazy. But at this point everyone is badmouthing the author and judging them based on a single previous series when you don't even know the author's intentions. It could be for sales cause BJ alex was a huge success (but hey, so is this one, whether you like it or not), or maybe they want to write a more refined story following the same trope, or simply because it's their own preferences, like a personal achievement of sorts.
Webtoons are a form of artistic expression before anything else, so the author is allowed to draw and tell whatever story they want. Naturally they can not appeal to everyone. You and everyone else jumping into this fully knowing the author's pattern and predicting the story isn't on the author, it's solely on you. You're playing right into their "plot", still consuming what they write and draw, and collaborate in making it more popular whith all your hateful comments lol
I don't care what y'all think but I prefer scenarios where one of the MC's is an asshole, a player, a shitty person someway somehow, and gets "reformed". I mean it's a story for a reason, if both are green flags from the get go and we have a smooth sailing relationship where would the spice be? Why would it be a plot to begin with?
Stories are meant to tell something, this author decided to tell the stories of shitty people who learned how to be decent human beings thanks to what would appear to be a very meak, dismissive, weaker person. If anything it gives power to the uke who remained gentle through and through, and not - as how most of you appear to think - justify the seme, but teaches them how to behave instead.
You guys should learn to look at things from a different perspective sometimes, and if you still don't think it's your cup of tea, just drop it and read something else. There are tons of semes with dumb looking reactions and wagging tails.
