Yeah, i dont even celebrate my birthday as well. So i know its not a must! But seeing manhwas only focus on the FLs happiness always breaks my heart, since other characters also deserve some love an recognition Its not even such a big deal honestly, the whole birthday thing but its nice to know that Evan isn't getting his trauma overshadowed
if they had over shadowed it or grossed over it, it wouldn't be worth reading because it would of been nothing for the FL's development. and i really hate manga's that do not give the leads things to develop over. Someone else's trauma are often better development plots than the regular fighting stuff. It's because they are things that happen to everyday people on earth and hopefully make people on earth reading it open their eyes a bit more.

Beside the fact that its completely dumb not to celebrate. Because every damn noble celebrates no matter what status they have. The fact that a celebration is such a good way to not only express your feelings for the person in question. Its not about how luxurious and expensive a gift is, its genuinely about the thought behind a gift!!! If I think about giving a person a necklace as a gift, then my thoughts would be:
•do they wear jewelry a lot
•do they like it lose or tight
•what kind of material do they like or prefer
•do they prefer stones, charms, feathers, pearls or no additional stuff to be on the necklace
•something more flashy or plain
•would they look good in it
•what are the chances they will wear it at all
Like there can be a lot of through be put into a gift, you dont need to explain that all, but showing up with 100 boxes of stuff that other people picked out is just... wow...
The most expensive thing a person can give is time. Humans have a limited amount of time they are alive. Taking that time and really thinking about the other person and a gift is really beautiful. It doesn't always have to be objectively expensive, but its already a lot to feel the warmth in a gift.
Also a birthday party is also such a nice event to connect with others and create connections between other people their age or gain respect/influence and carissing sozial connections
