This one, they're from the same novelist and share the same universe (not sure about the timeline tho) but the two stories don't directly affecting each other (so if u just read one of them, it doesn't really matter), but some of the lore is definitely still connected and relevant with each other

So, disclaimer, i haven't read the novel yet i only got some spoilers from my random internet friends that actually read it and they read it in Korean using MTL since they can't read hangeul so bare with me if the explanation is kinda jumpy and all over the place.

– let's start from Nain first, our MC as you might read it, he got into a ritual from the priests to "erase his memory" right? If i remember correctly it's under Amon's order, but i can't make sure like THE EXACT REASON behind it, like some spoilers said it's so that Nain can actually forgot about the time when humans were killed and died in front of him, yadayada, and this is where my question rise, if that's really is the reason then why not abolished all those inhuman tradition? Like killing ppl for fun?? Still so weird for me and this is the part that bother me the most. Like Amon and his logic is such a clown behaviour, you know Nain is fuckin SCARED why still did that shit? Idk if it's because my friends got lost in translation when they read it (again, MTL) or what.

– this is another reason, someone said it's to basically "reset" Nain's memory, and i think it's more make sense somehow that whatever reasons behind this... But it's not like 100% guaranteed tho, that ritual i mean... It's somehow just make his memory become foggy but not actually 100% erase it by the way. And when he discovered that the priests actually drugged him, i think it's because Gwen told him or they both discovered it too, that's the part where Nain and Gwen become closer.

– and yeah as you guys might guess, Nain is actually the one that met Amon such a long time ago, maybe hundreds years before the current timeline. But Nain got killed in a brutality action by Amon's followers (or people that actually quite fanatic towards him yadayada), the reason? I don't know abt this tbh, my friends didn't go deep into this one (again, MTL) i guess it's just fanaticism? But yeah it's pretty brutal i think that's also explain why Nain is so scared of blood and human brutality (talkin abt PTSD)

– and at that time, it's actually too late for Amon to save Nain, like bro is dead DEAD (poor my baby) but did Amon truly love him? HE IS INDEED! Remember the part when i told you "there's actually a pretty big hint in there as well" in the "I Can See Your Stats!" the dragon ML (Yanu) told MC (Eyra) that if things go south, he will swallow/eat Eyra. I don't remember which chapter but if you read it you probably remembered that part, if you haven't read it, you should!!! (It's good LOL) that's actually why this manhwa title is "DEVOURED. The Serpent and the pomegranate" cause Amon basically swallowed Nain after his death (in some Chinese Mythology some dragon is actually become snake first before they fully become dragon)

– so yeah you can say Amon is a dragon. And dragon mates for life. That's also explained why he swallow/eat Nain, cause that's how dragon protect his mate. In the "I Can See Your Stat!" manhwa Yanu told Eyra that's like the last action they would take if in the war Eyra is in danger m (in that manhwa, dragons would kill eachother and steal a mate from another dragon)

MAJOR SPOILER (PART. 2)

– remember the chapter when Nain said Amon rarely eat anything other the stones (the one that looked sparkling). It's actually mana stones (I don't know if they mention it here or not, but in the "I Can't See Your Stats!" Yanu actually love to eat mana stones as snacks)

– the reason why Amon need to eat the excessive amount of mana stones is because he needs to keep Nain's live with him, cause you know he ate/swallowed his already dead body... to keep him "alive"

– it is also said that as long as the dragon is alive the mate is also alive with him, like the soul and stuff like that (my bad dawg, I'm bad at explaining this thing). So that's why as long as Amon is alive, Nain's soul would technically alive too eventho his body is "dead"

– and this dragon stuff is actually have something to do with Gwen (drum roll please) as I mention it before Gwen is from the labyrinth city too, same as Eyra so that's why i said mage from that mf labyrinth city are freaky as hell... so Gwen is a mage that his research is based on dragon and somehow he smell like blood (guess because he's a researcher that experiment a lot) that's why Amon took interest on Gwen cause he smells like blood and took him in. But then Gwen take interest in Nain, i guess he knew it too that Nain in Amon's mate, and he also has a research to make like a weapons... based on dragon's mate's blood. Cause it has been said that dragon's mate's blood is the only one that can kill the dragons. Also Gwen has a pretty advanced technology in his lab, like he has door that basically like a door from one place to another(?) (i guess similiar to teleportation door like doraemon)

– and in the end, i think Nain will get his memories back... And at that time i think he left with choices(?) and his physical body will not be visible to other people other than Amon and Gwen. They're the only one that can actually see Nain's soul and body (idk maybe he becomes transparent or sum like that), i guess that's why people say it's an "open ending" but i think it's clear that Nain would probably stay with Amon.
