A big paycheck doesn't outweigh emotional trauma dude. Honestly you just sound jealous and him being rich has nothing to do with anything. Also he's most likely not in charge of his own financials. His "Father"... Soup-King

You somehow managed to completely hand wave away the fact that Sejin has his own resources.

He can leave at anytime. He isn't trapped. He was never trapped. He chooses to stay because he thinks he'll be rewarded for it.

He doesn't leave because he doesn't want to stop being a billionaire. He'll have to live in a normal apartment. He'll have to get a normal job. He'll have to take public transportation. He won't have a private secretary. He'll have to pay his own bills. He'll be responsible for his whole life on his own without anyone to take care of him (you know, like literally every non-billionaire adult).

You keep saying that he's confined, that he has no choice... All of these things but none of them are real. They only exist inside of your head.

You can recap the story all you want but you aren't addressing any of the things that I'm saying. You're making personal attacks and that's it, lol.

Please address my actual points or stop because you don't have an argument. You haven't addressed the fact that his only motivation was his own benefit. You have an address the fact that he has the resources to leave.

Give me ONE instance where he says it's for his own benefit and not his family dude. When does he ever say something like "I can stay rich this way." He's actively being abused and in distress. Give me one instance where he talks about how much he loves being rich. What profit is he himself making from stealing the product idea? He's a general manager he personally doesn't have a need for this information. Only his father does. Only his father would be getting monetary value from this. Do you know how it feels to be abandoned? Do you know how emotionally and psychologically distressing that is? I'm not excusing the fact he stole. I'm not claiming he's some defenseless omega who can do no wrong. If we go by the law theres mitigating circumstances. The main thing I'm confused by is why you think he's the scum of the earth. He's stealing under duress. He's in an extremely stressful situation and he's in survival mode. Just because he's rich does not mean he has freedom. Do you know how terrifying it is to separate from your abuser? Sure like you said he's physically able to leave at any point. But he mentally can't. Even if he left the guilt of "abandoning" his family would eat him alive and I don't doubt he'd have a similar ending either way. I'm sure you're gonna respond to this like "You're treating him like a damsel in distress who can do no wrong." When that's not what I'm doing at all. You make it seem like we have a moral failing for feeling bad for him when he's in a position to pity. You keep saying that we would hate this guy irl but first of all a few points:
First of all I don't subscribe to the opinion that people do bad things for absolutely no reason at all. If possible I'd want a conversation since we're assuming we have some sort of relationship. He's not a total stranger. Though if I only knew him for the amount of time Ido knew him I'd trust him significantly less. That part is true.

Second of all this is fiction. We see his thoughts and anyone who is media literate can tell that in the first timeline the narrative is extremely unreliable because Sejin has very few opinions of his own. His mindset is that he is living breathing property. He doesn't feel he has any rights. In real life there's millions of women who are trapped in situations just like this. I'm the story male omegas are the lowest of societal hierarchy.

Is your opinion that unless you steal because you or someone you know is starving there's no other reason to steal? Are you genuinely saying that anyone who steals for any reason other than that is a horrible selfish person?

Do you not like Robin Hood either because he broke the law? Have you been personally victimized by a thief?

I'm not trying to attack you. I'm telling you that everything you've said has come off as pure victim blaming and sounds beyond harsh. In fact Id say it's practically medieval.

You're coming off as if you're intentionally hostile. You don't come off as having a reasonable argument. Literally the start of this conversation was you attacking someone for feeling bad about Sejin.

I don't know what else I can say to make you realize how terrible of a person you look like right now even if it's unintentional.

You keep saying that he has no choice. Over and over and over again your argument is that Sejin has no choice. You have no other argument. You've written a novel to say that he's helpless...

Without one's addressing the fact that he's not. He's rich. He has resources. He has education, working experience, significant savings, his good reputation, and is incredibly healthy.

How exactly does he have no choice?

    Soup-King September 8, 2025 5:34 pm

I'm not saying he's helpless jfc you're not listening at all. Just because he is in a good position in life does not make him mentally ok. I don't know any other way to explain to you. Every argument you've had is the same thing repeated over and over and over and over again. You're entire argument has boiled down to:

"He's rich so nothing excuses him being a thief." That's it that's literally you're entire argument. You fully believe that Sejin is a piece of shit human being. I'm starting to believe you don't have even a little bit of empathy.

You bring up extreme comparisons that have no context on the situation.

Ok he stole so he deserves jail. But clearly Ido bailed him out in the first timeline though it was malicious. In the second timeline Ido knows for a fact Sejin could do the same thing and he does literally nothing to stop him. Instead he makes sure the people who deserve justice get it instead.

Sejin doesn't defend himself because like you said he knows what he did was wrong. Even Ido understands why in the second timeline.

You make it sound like Sejin is Satan himself. You keep saying that Sejin is some unfeeling person who's purely selfish when he's not.

You're beyond frustrating. You act like you have some sort of moral high ground because you keep pointing out the obvious fact he stole. But then you baselessly accuse everything he does as meaning hes some kind of gold digger who wants to stay rich.

Arguing with you is a waste of time but congratulations you've successfully rage baited me into arguing with you over this. You're not some Saint for saying stealing is bad. All you've done is deliberately make op feel bad about feeling sad for a character.

That's all you've BEEN doing actually. The only thing you've done in this comment section is make people upset and frustrated at you.

I've tried being polite and I've tried being reasonable. What you should do is either stop fueling this or stop reading. Since you clearly hate the MC so much how about instead of making people feel like shit and pissing them off you keep your opinions to yourself. As far as I can tell everyone BUT you can read this just fine.

My own anger and frustration is getting the better of me in this argument. I've tried explaining and you still don't get it so I'm going to say it clearly.

No one but you thinks Sejin is irredeemable trash. As much as you say otherwise or as much as you try to defend your opinion YOU are in the wrong here.

The maximum LEGAL sentence Sejin would get in a court of law is 10 maybe 15 years. BUT YOU said you think he deserves to rot for the rest of his life. Not even an actual court of law thinks that.

You probably think thieves deserve their hands cut off too don't you?

I don't know why and I don't care to know why you think this but projecting your morals on character who's shown his entire thought process of being abused.

Sejin doesn't even realize it's abuse until Ido points it out THATS how deep in his mindset he is.

And even as I write this I just know in my heart you'll bring up his wealth and his ability to "leave" and ignore any and all self reflection.

What are you even arguing at this point?

He stole. We know that and no one is denying it.

He could have left. He physically could of but escaping your abuser can be unthinkable especially when you don't even realize it's abuse and think you deserve it.

He deserves everything except being raped. You're right he doesn't deserve to be raped, no one does. But that does not mean he deserves all of the other treatment hes gotten. On the first timeline within seconds of meeting Ido assumes hes a prostitute with pedigree. He does not deserve that. He doesn't deserve to be isolated and neglected. Sejin himself might've preferred prison because then he could at least talk to other inmates. Instead Ido uses his own wealth and power to trap him after the embezzlement scandal. And unlike your other arguments at that point he has no money of his own, no support, his reputation is ruined.

Being someone who's not empathetic isn't even a bad thing in itself but what you've done is trying to force everyone else into your mindset and that's why you're in the wrong.
