People usually have a hard times putting themselves in other characters shoes especially if it's not on their pov. Same like how people judge others quickly irl, they can't understand why ml is overly concious over mc when he was literally has assasin up his ass ever since he was a child. So obviously he'll be overly suspicious over mc, but many people can't understand that bcs they can't grasp why ml act like that when it's not weird at all. Maybe I'm just over analysing it but often time its young readers or people who blessed with good experiences more than others who can't put themselves in other shoes
I agree. People who didn't get to experience what he did wouldn't understand. MC only understands because he's always interacting with ML and is seeing his good sides, it must have been exhausting for ML to hide his true nature.
Arjen is actually not as bad as people make him out to be.. look he can even be gentle with someone he is suspicious of.
