As far as I remember such plots, and as far as it can be understood logically - a happy ending in such endlessly drawn-out push-pull situations is impossible by default. Even if they are together - there will be no feeling of a happy ending. When one does not mind throwing away his life, and the other is like an ice wall against which it all breaks... this is torture and psychological sadomasochism. Not by consent, and not for pleasure. BUT LET'S WAIT ANOTHER FIVE YEARS, WHO KNOWS WHAT THE AUTHOR HAS COME UP WITH.
