Is this an actually good story with a shit ton of chapters or is this one of those stories that everyone hypes up but the more you read it the more it goes on and the more the world building fall apart. Prime Example: Tower of God

If you’re going into Kubera for the story, then yes it holds itself pretty well. The creator had the whole story written out from the beginning so there is definitely a lot of payoff for tied plot threads. It was originally going to just be a published book series but she decided to make it a webtoon instead. (This is definitely shown in the art, it does improve with time. Personally I liked the style though)

I’d compare this to the likes of a high fantasy where every character (yes even the side characters) gets fleshed out over time, there is heavy world building that help the story feel pretty grounded and it has an interesting background inspired by Hindu mythology.

Honestly, you are lucky if you start to read now. Many plots are finally coming together. I just reread this in full and was surprised at how well together is. If you want an example, imagine world building similar to one piece you start small but when it get bigger, you just go back and go "wow, it makes sense"
