That's just the reality of things that update so slowly and infrequently, especially with plots that drag and don't have enough development that most audience find satisfying.
Most of us settle for what we get out of necessity and understanding of the personal circumstances of the creators.
Thats still doesn't mean that I'm not excited for updates, but on the other hand I'm just not into the story as I used to be when I had alot of content to read at first.
You said it very well imo about the momentum. At this point how is it much different from being a repetition of the pre time-skip arcs? I'm feeling kinda disappointed, but it is what it is.

I also felt this way and stopped reading it four or five years ago. A few months ago, I started from the beginning and read all nine volumes in one go. When you don't have to wait for chapters, the pacing is actually quite consistent and engaging, and it isn't difficult to keep up with the characters or yakuza drama.
If you're losing your enjoyment for the series, I recommend waiting until volume 10 is complete!
this used to be one of my favourite yaois, but I think the slow updates and dragging storyline with the yakuza backstory has made it difficult for me to enjoy this now.
Not trying to say I don't appreciate the complex storytelling, and I'm sure the author is working very hard at putting this out, its just I've been reading this for YEARS and the infrequency of updates and dragging plot makes it hard for me to remember chapter from chapter, especially with so many name drops here and there. The momentum just isn't strong enough anymore.
I am still reading this almost out of obligation, and also wanting to moments between doumeki and yashiro.
