
Well, I believe it has to do with the fact, that she merely approached them in order to get to the position of the queen. The treason itself has to do with the fact that she not only schemed on a large scale, in order to manipulate the decision of who is to be the next queen by Izek's side, but has also involved her uncle, who is a high ranking priest and the church isn't allowed to get mixed up in politics. Especially for their own personal gain, which in the end effect leads to corruption.
And of course even if she didn't approach them just because of the title, she still went with that goal in mind later on. Also one of the most important things was, that she said how Izek is the ideal heir to the throne, when there is a royal princess alive and well, and the decision hasn't been made yet by the current king. So this would be considered a huge treason as well especially back then, since the king's word and order are to be respected and followed.
