The father can't really be at fault, he was forced to have Olivia. Mistreating her a d using her a pawn to prevent his cherished daughter from marrying into the family, that is the only thing he was guilty for.
He cheated on his wife and brought her in intentionally as a pawn to insert her into the royal palace in stead of Esella. She’s older than Esella, meaning the father stepped out of the marriage. He mistreats her because he knows he is the one guilty and projects the blame. If he had never cheated on his wife, he wouldn’t have had our MC born, and even worse, when he found out she was born he brought her in to use her. He is the source of all of their misery, and responsible for not checking his children for mistreating Esella.
He never cheated though. Olivia's mother raped her father on orders of the Emperor, only took his child in after the mother pleaded with him to take her.
He was raped, knows full well who put the woman up with it and used the child at his advantage.
Yeah I found this out right after commenting this this is a tricky situation cause I was gonna say he should communicate with his wife about what happened but it could be traumatic and not ready to talk about it. I get why he acted that way but traumatizing and abusing that poor girl isn’t justifiable. I hope they’re able to get closure from one another in the future but idk
Oh no, while the fact is he never gave consent for secually interaction with Olivia's mother, he didn't really do much about it except loathing the woman and a daughter he never wanted. He used his unfortunate incident to protect Estella and give away the unwanted child who everyone around Olivia, except for Estella honestly, abused. The only one who accepted her aside from the sister was the mother because unlike stepmothers in past stories who torments children like the FL, this one was sane enough to see Olivia did nothing wrong.

I hate the family so much seeing them be so rough with that poor baby like she just lost her own mother. The one at fault is the unfaithful man that was sleeping around when he had wife. Im sure she’d be disgusted if she found out her ex was blaming that innocent girl. I’m glad she found someone who truly loves her
