That’s like asking why is Twilight popular when it’s an 118 yr old incel with a 17 year old. You can not approve but still stay for the plot and drama. The romance manga genre is starved for a series without an outright rapist or plain sexual harassment. You kinda just have to take what you get even if there’s massive flaws ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
My thing is, if you're gonna stay why complain? It's like going "I'm reading this age gap slop in a God honoring way, so im better than those who enjoy the age gap" yknow? I really don't think I can understand the twilight comparison either. Though this may be bc if I find something disgusting or weird I just can't read it.
there's also the same manhwa with huge age gap too and that plot is a child marrying an adult. Which is weird, only a few seems to hate on it for having a huge age gap, but most still loves it and it's also popular. The story never have anything inappropriate going on and people say it was such a beautiful romance, so why hate on this one when you like a manhwa like that and the twilight series. Unless you don't like it, then don't read these things, it's really weird for them to continue reading when they know it's something they don't like or find disgusting?
I feel the same way! Its almost like people are okay with things they deem taboo as long as others like it or it suits their tastes. The double standard is astonishing!
This reminds me of a manhwa where the fl has been regressing into different timelines and on her 100th life there’s this kid who’s like 6 years older than her hinted as the ml and the people were mad at it because she’s just a “baby” and there’s a huge gap. Did they not remember that she’s 1,782 years old in a baby’s body? Some people are selective when it comes to this trope.And there isn’t even romance at that point because they’re literal kids and yet people are already mad complaining.

Everytime i open the comments I see ppl complaining abt the age gap, and it's fine to dislike it but if it bothers you enough to say something you should drop it because we both know it's not going to change. And telling everyone in the comments about isn't gonna do anything to change it either, we know we're reading to lol
