Basically, it sounds like a scam. It's a good thing I don't buy the chapters, because I would have been really pissed off following a story that had certain promises made by the author himself, only to see them go up in smoke. I don't understand who's defending it; it's like someone going to buy apples only to find pears when they get home.

Yeah exactly. I even admit that i get invested in dark themed stories, I've always been a bit drawn to horror and phycological and things that touch on heavy and serious topics in well done ways (taken seriously), i genuinely find that interesting.
but people complaining and harassing others for being disappointed in seeing rape are clearly missing the point on why people are surprised when they've basically been deceived after getting invested in the characters they believed were a certain way due to what they were told lmao. You are told what you are getting into and then it does a 180 suddenly, and yet they are being quite rude about it to people rightfully shocked.
You can literally have dark topics about one thing, but doesn't mean that literally everything else goes hand in hand, they don't seem to get that. Like if you are watching a movie in cinema’s and you know theres going to be a crazy character but, voilence etc, but nothing too dark so far in other ways, you arent going to naturally expect to see that character rape another character you love, especially when you are told otherwise, because thats not a normal assumption nor baseline! And then of course people will be shocked and disappointed. It’s bizarre how they don't seem to get this.
It can make sense for certain stories to be disturbing in this way, but not every single dark theme goes hand in hand and theyre not expected to.
Guys people are rightfully shocked or put off by unexpected rape when the reason it was unexpected was because the author had disclaimers there wouldn't be any.
trying to say “if you dont like dark themes, get out of here” you are genuinely undermining the nuance to the reason as to WHY people are feeling this way because you personally don't care.
You can read darker themes (where this stuff is meant to be distressing/their backstory/taken seriously/phycological and its SUPPOSED to be upsetting and uncomfortable for an actual reason) and still feel this is unexpected (like myself!!) because we are actively being told there wouldn't be any of this, and so you don’t apply such themes to their relationship.
So when they suddenly happen, and you see the character you've grown attached to get raped by the other character you like to the point they throw up and obviously hate it, well no shit people are going to be feeling confused!
Because they were made to believe such things wouldn't be in here despite the other dark themes, (yes, you can have dark themes, or imply those themes without said disturbing things happening) or the author doesn't see it as rape.
