i also feel the same way abt solo for two, the characterization was all over the place imo but because theres angst its deemed "well written". ik this was already the case since long ago, but i feel sad that ppl these days will literally just eat up anything as long as the arts good.
I so agree with you on Solo for Two, I read it because I read reviews praising it but it did not live up to those glory comments. At all. I felt I got scammed after reading Solo for two ngl. It's just trauma and infodumping with good art all tied with a golden ribbon parading as a "good deep psychological" story. it's not bruh wake tf up gang
I think it also depends on the person's taste. There are stories that for me is really well written, and others might find it boring or to be nad (vice versa) That's why I usually check the comments and also ask question in the comment section so I don't waste my time.
People like to label mangas as “deep” and “emotional” just bc the manga deals with lots of complex and ugly emotions BUT not just because it is complex means it’s written WELL…… some of these authors have amazing drawing skills but no sense of writing or character development. Like fr some of these plots jus the hurt and no sense… just because the emotions and plot are confusing does not mean it is “deep” ..
